Priority Youth Project Liverpool
From young person to youth worker, Gemma is a valued member of our staff team. She first met Sarah and Will as a young person when she was aged just 13. Through being involved in activities and volunteering opportunities she was then employed as a street mate with Liverpool Youth and Play Service in 2008, before taking up posts as both a youth worker and play worker in 2010. She continued to work as a youth and play worker with Liverpool City Council until joining Priority Youth in July 2014.
Gemma has experience in a number of youth and play work settings including detached, centre based and mobile provision. She is committed to her work and does all she can to make a difference in the lives of young people. Her organisational and relationship building skills are excellent, and she is more commonly known as Sarah’s ‘mini-me’.
Gemma also works as a qualified careers advisor for Connexions in Knowsley and so has expertise in working with young people who are NEET, giving support with C.V. writing, employability skills and finding employment.
