On Friday 13th September 2019, the Priority Youth Project team was invited over to Carden Park Hotel for the 2019 Steve Morgan Foundation Awards. Amazingly, we were nominated for the award of 'Changing Young Lives' and this is when we would be finding out if we had been successful in our category. Weeks prior to this, a voting poll was set up for us and all the other charities in our category where we would have to try and get as many people to vote for us as possible, through social media, word of mouth and informing our young people about it. These votes would contribute 25% to the final decision.

Not only had we been invited for the Awards, but we had been asked to deliver our very own workshop on ‘Investing in Young People’ to other Charities and Social Enterprises, sharing the stories of our young workforce and how they have worked their way up from young people to dedicated youth workers. This was the perfect opportunity for us to network and meet the people behind the other amazing organisations that are funded by the Steve Morgan Foundation.

Then came the award ceremony, what we had all been waiting for. Set up in a gorgeous room in Carden Park, we found our table and mingled amongst the others around us. Steve Morgan and his amazing team always know how to make you feel welcome and host the most amazing events. It was time for the announcement of who won the category of ‘Changing Young Lives’… And to our amazement we came out on top and WON! This is such a great achievement for PYP, the Staff Team and all of our Young People. Not only did we win the award, we also walked away with a £5,000 donation too!

We would like to thank everyone who did vote for us, but a HUGE THANK YOU goes to the Steve Morgan Foundation for their continuous support over the years and giving us the opportunity to succeed in what we do!
